Time, Technology, Pork Chops

on Fri, 04/20/2012 - 17:20

It has been a while since I’ve posted an update for Engram. There are a few reasons for this, but primarily I’ve been working out the logistics for the film and figuring out how to proceed.

Engram is a very ambitious project, one that is worth pursuing, but one that needs a lot of resources to be done properly. And I’m not just talking about money. There are also some technical limitations. There’s something to be said for forging ahead just to get something done, but I have a very specific vision for Engram. One that I’m not willing to compromise on.

Engram Posters Designed by Ryan Artell

Ryan Artell is the real deal. A true talent with a unique style all of his own (bio follows). He has been kind enough to lend his visionary design aesthetic to Engram and I think the results speak for themselves. For me, seeing the final poster design was love at first sight.

I first encountered Ryan and his artwork a few years back after we met at a New Year’s Eve party in Vermont. His style seemed a natural fit for Engram and so, after some delay for fear of rejection, I asked if he would be interested in creating the posters for this project.

The Evolving Nature of Engram

on Sat, 10/15/2011 - 15:12

In any pursuit there is change. New information becomes available, limitations are revealed, original ideas and assumptions evolve over time. Engram is no different. The generation of this film is both iterative and agile.

Engram is not a Hollywood feature. It is a non-traditional narrative in both in its content and construction. Because of this I feel that it is important to try and keep everyone updated as the project evolves.
